We’re writing this from the supplier side. In our day-to-day business, the most common problem we see isn’t “product quality”—it’s process quality: unclear requirements, missing confirmations, slow processing, and shipping costs that feel like a black box. (based on BlueRabbit experience).
If your goal is hassle-free wholesale adult toys from China, the steps below will save you a lot of time—especially for mixed-SKU wholesale orders (which are also the most common type of order we handle).
Note: This is general operational advice, not legal advice. Always confirm compliance, labeling, and import rules for your target market.
1) Choosing the right supplier: traders for mixed SKU/smaller orders, factories for large single SKU runs
Don’t choose a supplier only by “factory vs. trading company.” Choose based on your wholesale order structure.
- Small to mid-size buyers (especially mixed SKU orders): a trading company is often the better fit—faster coordination across many items, fewer back-and-forths, and lower hidden costs.
- Brand owners or large-volume orders with few SKUs (single product / limited SKUs): a factory/manufacturer is often the better fit—better consistency, customization control, and unit cost when specs are stable, and volume is high.
In short:
Mixed SKUs + smaller quantities → trading company
Few SKUs + big volume → factory/manufacturer
Tips: Alibaba is the biggest B2B supplier marketplace for the sex toy industry.
2) If you want smooth execution, remove ambiguity from your RFQ
From our side, the fastest way to deliver correctly is simple: clear specs + clear priorities.
When requirements are vague, suppliers have to guess a “standard” version. That’s when buyers receive something technically acceptable—but not what they imagined.
Beginner-friendly RFQ checklist (works especially well for mixed SKUs)
For each SKU (or product group), specify:
- reference link/photo
- quantity by SKU
- MOQ by SKU
- must-match specs: material, color, size, accessories
- packaging: neutral or branded
- Your target market (helps us recommend the right packaging/positioning)
- QC expectation (e.g., visual + basic function check)
- shipping term: EXW or DDP (and destination)
If something is flexible, say it clearly (this helps us avoid guessing):
- “Color is flexible—please recommend best-selling options for wholesale.”
3) Visual confirmation is the most efficient “international language”
Because communication styles and English levels vary, we strongly recommend a visual-first workflow:
- annotated photos (arrows/circles)
- short function videos (10–30 seconds)
- bullet-point confirmations instead of long paragraphs
- Using Instant Messaging Tools (WhatsApp, WeChat), not email. Then you can get the reply timely.
This reduces misunderstanding, reduces rework, and keeps the order moving.
4) For a first cooperation: request more step-by-step confirmations
If it’s your first order with a supplier, the safest approach is to ask for simple evidence at key stages. This helps keep the order aligned and also shows you the supplier’s cooperation style.
Recommended confirmations:
- sex toy photo/video before packing
- packaging confirmation
- carton packing photo (helps prevent transport damage disputes)
- basic random function-check clip
This is not about distrust—it’s about setting a clear, repeatable process.
Tips: A good sex toy supplier will follow your order closely and keep you updated voluntarily.
5) Cost transparency: don’t accept shipping as a black box—ask for weight data
Many wholesale orders—especially mixed-SKU orders—are not huge in volume, and many buyers request door-to-door shipping (DDP). That’s fine, but you should still require weight-based transparency so you can verify the total cost.
What to request in any shipping quote
- unit weight per SKU
- total gross weight
- carton count (and dimensions if possible)
- shipping rate basis (e.g., price per kg/channel type)
This makes shipping comparable across quotes and prevents surprises.
6) EXW vs. DDP: choose what matches your logistics ability
- EXW: best if you have your own forwarder and want full control.
- DDP: best if you want a simpler, more hands-off process—especially for first orders.
For DDP, always confirm:
- destination address format (city + ZIP/postal code)
- estimated timeline
- What’s included in the DDP scope (so cost stays transparent)
7) Mixed SKU orders: the key is organization, not complexity
Mixed SKUs are common, but they require a slightly more structured approach:
- a clean SKU list (name + photo/link + quantity)
- confirmed variants (color, size, packaging) per SKU
- clear “must-have vs. nice-to-have” notes
If you can provide a clear list, the rest is execution.
Summary
If you want sourcing adult toys to be easy and costs to be transparent from China, focus on:
- clear SKU-level requirements,
- visual confirmations at key checkpoints,
- weight-based shipping breakdowns.
If you share your mixed-SKU list and target market, we can respond with realistic MOQ, lead time, and EXW/DDP options—and keep the whole process straightforward and trackable.
